Elder Mitch Robinson was born in November 1968 in Waterbury, CT. to Dr. Arthur L. Robinson Sr. and Mother Lynnis M. Robinson. Dr. & Mother Robinson moved to Notasulga, Alabama where Dr. Robinson received the call to pastor. He is currently the Pastor of the House of Prayer.
The House of Prayer is where Elder Mitch was introduced to the Lord Jesus Christ and gained a love for the Bible. The Lord gave many gifts to Elder Mitch and enabled him to sing, and play the guitar and keyboard at an early age. Elder Mitch also was given the ability to memorize scripture which was used to participate in church plays.
Elder Mitch entered the United States Marines after completing high school in 1986 and served his nation proudly. He rose to the rank of sergeant and served in the 1991 Desert Shield and Desert Storm conflict.
Elder Mitch was ordained Deacon at Word of Faith Church under Pastor Wycoff while in the military. It was at Word of Faith Church that Elder Mitch began to study the bible to show himself approved. Elder Mitch moved to Maryland upon discharge from the Marines and met and married Lady Alissa P. Robinson.
The Lord called Elder Mitch to ministry at the Word of Life Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Al Smith where he was ordained Minister and served as minister of music and director of education. Elder Mitch implemented the Men’s Breakfast and taught bible study and Sunday School. Elder Mitch was ordained as an Elder in April 2006 and served at the Word of Life as associate pastor.
Elder Mitch heard the Lord’s call to Pastor and established Great Commission Ministries (GCM). GCM had its first service July 2008. GCM is built upon Matthew 28:19-20 and simply wants to draw people to Christ. Pastor Mitch and Lady Alissa are dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and empowering others to do the same.
Pastor Mitch and Lady Alissa have two sons, Mitch Jr. and DeCarlos, and currently reside in Hagerstown, MD.
The Pastor and the GCM ministerial board are here for you. Our duties are outlined in Ephesians, “...perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…” (4:12). We will:
· Pray for you
· Lead you in praise and worship
· Seek God for every sermon, bible study and Sunday school lesson prepared for you
· Help you discover and exercise your spiritual gifts
· Be good financial stewards of your tithes and offerings
· Keep GCM members updated on our progress, goals, upcoming events, and finances at our quarterly church-wide meetings.
